I knew it would make a great piece of decor in her witchy themed room. We love to dress this swan up in pretty hats. She looks so lively. I stumbled upon this cute little pom pom creature that my daughter crafted up awhile ago. He looks so cute here, like a nice little monster. My daughter used to LOVE teddy bears and of course she still adores them. These have a chic vintage feel that look great sitting next to my mother in law's childhood tea set from the 50's. We love this book, The Witch Next Door. I scooped it up at a neighbor's yard sale for 25 cents a few years ago. It's pretty old and very delicate now, but we still get a kick out of reading it. I love storytelling with decorations. Here we see a friendly old witch on her way home under the beautiful full moon. She sees the Halloween tree and knows she is nearly there. She greets her friendly ghost before retiring inside for a magical cup of tea. I made the moon out of craft foam board and the ghost out of muslin fabric and a styrofoam ball. The little house I got for $1 at a yard sale. I made the pretty cauldron out of styrofoam balls and a 98 cent cauldron from Walmart. I also printed the art at home and used other things from around the house to complete this altar. How cute is this teacup with homemade picks? For the Potions book, I painted a white box that a cellphone came in. I needed a riser and this was the perfect way to do that. The crystals from my daughters Calm Crystal Collection. I like to keep all of my daughter's holiday decor a little feminine. I knew pearls would be a really cute addition to this altar and came up with this little jar of potion ingredients. A leaf, two googly eyes and a glittery ball managed to form themselves into a face and it looks awesome, doesn't it!? I wasn't sure about the fringey little table at first, but we do think it's kind of neat. I had to hot glue the tiny bottles down otherwise the kids would pick them up and cause the thing to knock over. Thank you for stopping by! Happy Halloween!
