My daughter and I were watching Pocahontas when she asked if we could make a headdress like the ones they wore.

I knew we could put it together with supplies I already had and what better way to ease the guilt of putting on yet another movie than by pairing it with a craft?!

But the best thing about this adorable dress up accessory is that it is so fast and easy!

Pretty Stationery Supplies for Girls
My daughter recently began writing letters to a pen pal and it's such an exciting thing to watch her do. She loves making friends every where she goes and now she has one half way around the world.

How fun it will be to see her send off thoughtful letters and cool little treasures from her world.

I wanted her to have stationery supplies that were a bit more chic, though...

I love repurposing common things into art. Have you ever noticed that things like gift bags essentially are pieces of art?

When I saw this lovely gift bag at the Dollar Tree, I knew that it would look great in our Christmas decor if I framed it.

When I set out to create a cute little faux topiary for our guest room I had no idea that it was going to turn out so darn perfect.

Take a look at the "dirt". Isn't that amazing?! I originally intended to use moss to cover the bottom.

I don't know what came over me though. I just started mixing stuff and somehow came up with the perfect artificial dirt.

Trick or treat, smell my feet... ew. Ok nevermind. I'm glad I'm never home to hear that icky chant on Halloween night.

I'm just kidding, my kids and I had some good laughs this October chanting that old fashioned rhyme.

But I am seriously never home on Halloween night, despite how much I love personally handing out candy. So, I needed a sign. Can you believe this was a thrift flip?

There's just something elegant about homemade monster costumes for Halloween. It's a classic look with a hand made touch that adds high quality distinction. You can't beat the often friendlier price of making your own Halloween costumes either.

Last year I convinced my family to groan our way down the sidewalk wrapped in cloth that was supposed to take us peacefully to the other side, but instead left us with a hunger for candy.

All jokes aside, I mummified these costumes myself and let me tell you how easy it was. Ahem... no sewing involved.

How to Send a Flower Via Snail Mail

Sending things via snail mail is one of the most fun ways to communicate with family and friends. I love the joy that a good old fashioned letter can bring to others. And I love teaching my kids to make this a part of their lives, too.

My mother in law is a twelve hour drive from us so I especially like to send the occasional funsy in the mail, little things that help her experience her grandkids’ childhoods even though we’re far apart.
