Take One Trick or Treating Sign

Trick or treat, smell my feet... ew. Ok nevermind. I'm glad I'm never home to hear that icky chant on Halloween night. 

I'm just kidding, my kids and I had some good laughs this October chanting that old fashioned rhyme. 

​But I am seriously never home on Halloween night, despite how much I love personally handing out candy. So, I needed a sign. Can you believe this was a thrift flip?

I picked up this children's art easel at Goodwill for $5.99. It needed a pretty good cleaning and a paint job, but it was in nice shape otherwise. 

I removed the screws that attached the legs which made the sign look much more chic.

I filled the holes from the screws with a little wood filler and then sanded it down. Easy peasy.

I painted the edges with metallic copper craft paint and I painted over the white dry erase board with black craft paint. I love how it turned out!

I used paint markers to write this little rhyme on our sign and draw a few cute little Halloween images. All I have to do is set it out again next year.
