As, I'm dressing today for an elegant and quiet time, I'm remembering our snow day together yesterday. I'm daydreaming in reverse. Selecting jewelry requires almost no thought as I immediately spot the perfect earrings to pair with this refreshing winter ensemble. I love how the creamy white sweater on top of the brisk green gingham skirt reminds me of a snow covered evergreen tree. I'm all ready for a put together, yet relaxed day. I feel deserving of this since I spent all day prior cleaning up wet snow, dressing children for cold, snow play and making hot chocolate. One last gaze out my window before I head downstairs to indulge in a hobby or two. I see three happy sleds still lying on the ground, glad to have provided thrilling joy to my two kids and their friend. I spent this well dressed day in a state of gratitude for our wonderful snow day. Our neighbors invited my kids in for lunch after snowman building and snowball throwing. I fixed a cup of my wintery Vadham tea and gave thanks for their hospitality. Usually, I love to get all bundled up with my kids and take part in the fun. But on this particular snow day I decided to refrain in order to stay inside with our rowdy puppy dog, Norman the Christmas Beagle. Sipping my tea I reflected on how it turned out to be the perfect day to bake and decorate the snowmen sugar cookies that I had acquired all things for before Christmas. And with that playing The Snowman on Prime, one of my favorite pieces of children's content. All in all... Most days do not look or feel this magical for me. I'm usually all over the house carrying heavy baskets of laundry, cleaning up after meals, and commanding our dog with a rather scary tone. But I am determined to create and revel in whatever elegance I can until I have mastered the art of transforming every moment of time into an elegant one. I hope you'll soon find a lovely day with your kids and thereafter a time, long or short, for you to dedicate yourself to your own elegance. Shop the Look
