I always surprise my kids with the Halloween decor. I leave this festive detail out of our conversation on the way home from school.
They walk in to see a magical story, that's been playing out in my head, come to life. Their giddy excitement and love for what I have done make it all so worth it.
I picked out these colorful and uniquely shaped pumpkins at a gorgeous local pumpkin patch. I've been seeing a lot of these stacks and I knew it would look awesome inside dressed up as a witch. I made the witch hat out of a paper mache cone, stiff felt, and hot glue.
Every year I love bringing big sticks inside and tying stiff black ribbon on to give the effect of bats flying. I love how one of these sticks layered over the painting in our entry way. It gave the effect of the tree coming to life, so magical!
My mini pumpkin patch is simple, but displays such an important part of Fall and Halloween.
This is where you check in at the Witch's Inn Dead and Breakfast. We welcome any ghoul without a soul to enjoy comfy beds, recreation, and a ghastly good restaurant. I'm kidding of course.
When my grandparents moved they gave me a box full of trinkets. This intriguing owl bell was in there. I shined up the brass and can't believe how perfectly this goes with our Dead and Breakfast theme.
We keep a chic bowl of dog treats by the door to keep our cutie Beagle in line.
The magical door to the catacombs. Every witch's house has a basement and this one is accessed through this strange little portal.
I made this catacombs sign out of a page from a vintage art book. I glued it onto a black board and presto ala cazoo...
This is my favorite room to meditate in. It's nice to have some quiet company.
It's the enchanted pumpkin.
My husband gave me this Molly Hatch gratitude book for Christmas. It's designed more for guests to write in when they visit. I love it and love including it in holiday decor.
I don't like scary or gory Halloween vibes. I am more of a good witch. And the magic of gratitude is most powerful of all.
This is my altar. Care for a candied eye ball?
I love these elegant glass urns and the look of a classic ghost rising up from it. These ghosts were so easy to make.
I stuck a wood dowel rod into a styrofoam ball, glued a piece of white fabric to the back of the ball, and painted on a quick face.
Is anyone else getting Halloweentown vibes? I love that movie!
I wrote this spell myself to bring in good vibes. You can download it as well in the original post.
This is a Taino god of good luck that we got in the Dominican Republic. I keep it out all year long, but he looks especially cool with the Halloween decor, don't you agree?
Thanks for stopping by! Have a Happy Halloween!
